The Bolshoy Theatre
Thе State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia is one of the best musical theatres in the world. The Bolshoi Theatre was founded in 1776, by the moment when the First Moscow regular troupe was organized by Peter Urussov and his partner Mikhail Medoks. The new edifice of the Bolshoi Theatre was rebuilt and enlarged several times and now it is considered one of the most mesmerising theatrical buildings in the world due to its wonderful architectural style. Ballet and opera performances are staged at the Bolshoi Theatre with the participation of the world stars. Bolshoi is one of the world’s largest theatres. Over the years it has staged and produced such outstanding operas as “Ivan Susanin” and “Ruslan and Lyudmdila” by Mikhail I. Glinka, the founder of the Russian classical opera, M.P. Mussorgsky’s “Boris Godunov” and “Khovanshchina”, P.I. Chaikovsky’s operas and ballets, such as “Yevgeny Onegin”, “The Queen of Spades”, “The Swan Lake”, “The Nutcracker”, and many more created by the country’s and foreign best composers.
